If you are thinking about getting hip replacement surgery, you probably spend a lot of time thinking about the details of your surgery and what it will involve. But there are also many things that you might not think of until much later. What happens, for instance, if something goes wrong? What about all the risks and problems you always hear about? Before making the final choice, you should think about these things. So, we wrote this article about medical malpractice and hip replacement surgery. If you're on the verge of making this choice, this information might make you feel better. The risk of medical malpractice is real, but if you know what to look out for, you can take steps to reduce that risk if you are thinking about getting a hip replacement.

What is Medical Malpractice?

Malpractice, or medical negligence, is a term that refers to a doctor or healthcare provider making an error that results in harm to the patient. Generally speaking, there are three main types of malpractice: The first type is making an error in diagnosis. The second is failing to follow proper procedure during the treatment. And the third is failing to inform the patient of the potential risks and complications of a procedure. Any of these can result in serious harm or even death to the patient, which is why it’s so important to defend yourself from malpractice. It’s also important to note that medical malpractice isn’t always a result of malicious intent or a doctor making mistakes out of ignorance. Things like miscommunication, a patient misunderstanding a procedure, or even a doctor getting the wrong information can all result in the same thing: Damage to you.

The Risks of Hip Replacement Surgery

Hip replacement surgery is often considered the gold standard of care for degenerative joint disease, like osteoarthritis. However, it’s important to note that while this is a safe surgery, it is not without risks. In fact, there are complications that are associated with this surgery more often than not. If you look at the rates of complications, we see that they can range anywhere from 10-20%. That may not sound like a lot, but when you’re talking about a surgery with a high success rate, that can have a devastating effect on your outcome. When you’re considering hip replacement surgery, you need to be aware of these risks and complications. They include:

Blood clots

While a very rare complication, it can result in serious damage and death.

Urinary tract infections

This is a common complication, especially in people who have recently undergone surgery. It can be easily treated with antibiotics, but you should expect to have frequent urination for about a month after your surgery.

Hiccups

While this is a bit silly, it’s indeed a real risk when undergoing surgery on the abdomen. It’s not a risk that’s exclusive to hip replacement surgery, but it’s something that can occur as a result of the procedure.

Wound infections

This is more common in patients who have other health concerns, which is why it’s so important to be honest with your doctor about your medical history.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

This is a condition that affects the blood vessels in the legs and can often be fatal. While the risk of this is lower when undergoing hip replacement surgery, it is still something you need to be aware of and take precautions against.

Negligence and Medical Malpractice

While the risks of hip replacement surgery and the risk of complications are always present, they don’t always result in a bad outcome. Sometimes, even with the best surgeons, things can go wrong. However, that doesn’t mean that the surgeon is negligent or acting with malpractice. That’s where things can get tricky. What is negligent or malpractice? It’s defined by the standard of care in your area. If a surgeon fails to meet that standard, they can be found negligent. However, it’s important to note that not all negligence results in malpractice. For example, say you’re undergoing hip replacement surgery and the surgeon makes a mistake in your diagnosis. They misread your X-rays and don’t realize you have arthritis. While that does constitute negligence, it is not malpractice because it does not harm you.

When Can You Sue For Hip Replacement Surgery Medical Malpractice?

Now that we’ve gone over what hip replacement surgery medical malpractice is and how it can affect you when undergoing hip replacement surgery, you may be wondering when you can sue for malpractice.

In short, you can sue for malpractice whenever you feel like you’ve been harmed by a negligent doctor. However, it’s important to note that you’re not entitled to damages in all cases. While each state has different laws, in general, you can’t sue for medical malpractice if you didn’t suffer any financial loss. This means that you need to have experienced a monetary loss as a result of the negligence. Similarly, if the negligence didn’t actually hurt you, then you can’t sue. For example, say you have a friend who is diagnosed with arthritis and undergoes hip replacement surgery. They’re diagnosed with DVT after their surgery and are prescribed blood thinners. Because of their diagnosis, they can’t take blood thinners, so they go to another doctor who prescribes a different medication. They’re unable to work for 6 months and lose out on a lot of money because of this.

How To Protect Yourself From Medical Malpractice

There are a few things you can do to protect yourself from hip replacement surgery medical malpractice. First and foremost, make sure you know what to expect. Know what the procedure is, what the risks are, and what the potential complications are. Make sure to ask your doctor about these things and make sure you understand what they mean. This can help you identify when something goes wrong and help you see if there is a mistake or miscommunication on the doctor’s part. Next, make sure you get a second opinion. While this doesn’t always mean that you’ll get a better result, it can help you rule out negligence by a doctor. By getting a second opinion, you’re able to speak with another doctor about your diagnosis and the potential procedure. This can help you determine if the doctor’s recommendation is correct and whether or not they’re being negligent.

Final Words

As you can see, the dangers of hip replacement surgery medical malpractice are real. While you can’t protect yourself from every risk, you can take steps to reduce the risks and protect yourself from negligence. At the end of the day, it’s important to remember that being healthy is the best way to protect yourself from medical malpractice. Make sure to eat healthy, exercise, and take care of your body so that you have the best chance at a successful surgery.

5 Best Health Tips to Keep You Healthy While Working On Your Computer

While working on a computer might seem like the perfect time to catch up on your assignments or check your social media accounts, it might not always be beneficial to your health. With the constant light from the screen, the flickering of the cursor and the pungent smells that come with taking note of spreadsheets for hours on end, it's no wonder many researchers have linked computer use with eye strain and headaches.

In this blog post, we list 5 tips that will help you stay healthy while working on a computer. You may be surprised at how simple they are, and yet how often they are overlooked. Keep reading to learn more about how working on a computer can improve your health and how you can make the most of your time there.

1. Make sure you're comfortable

The most important step towards staying healthy while working on a computer is to make sure you're comfortable while doing so. The most obvious way to do this is to make sure you're wearing the correct clothes. If you're wearing tight clothing that's causing you pain, it's likely that you'll end up with neck or shoulder pain. If you're wearing loose clothing, you'll likely wake up with a sore back or shoulders.

When sitting at your computer, make sure you're sitting upright and away from any walls. It's also a good idea to keep your back straight and avoid hunching over the keyboard.

2. Take short breaks

Getting into the habit of taking short breaks will help you stay healthy while working on a computer. As with any work activity, you should take breaks when you're feeling fatigued. It doesn't matter if you're only sitting down for 5 minutes or if you're going to take a longer break, it's important to reset your body after working for a few hours straight.

Taking breaks will help you to avoid staying too long on the computer and getting into a pattern where you're continuously spending too much time there. It will also allow you to avoid getting too hungry or thirsty and missing out on important meetings.

3. Keep your wrists and neck straight

People often overlook how important good posture is when working on a computer. When you're sitting at the computer desk, make sure your wrists are bent at a 90 degree angle. Your arms should be straight and at your sides, not slung across the keyboard.

Also, make sure your neck is straight. When you're sitting up with your head tilted back, it's putting a lot of strain on your neck. By keeping your neck straight and bent at the right angles, you'll be able to avoid pain or headaches.

4. Don’t use a mouse while standing up

If you have a desk, the natural position to be in is standing up. Using a mouse while standing up can cause back injury because the arm that's swing- ing back is actually being twisted.

This will, of course, be much more problematic if you're doing a lot of typing while standing up.

To avoid this, stop using a mouse while standing up. Instead, do your typing and whatever work that requires you to look at a screen from an angle. If you can't avoid standing up while working on a computer, make sure to keep your back straight and your wrists bent at the correct angle.

5. Don’t stare at the screen

While working on a computer, you should avoid staring at the screen. This will likely cause eye strain; it will also cause wrinkles around your eyes and dry, crusted eyes.

To prevent this, make sure you keep your head up and your eyes looking at the text or images on the screen rather than the ceiling or the walls. You can also keep a lamp on your desk that will give you light without causing any strain.

Conclusion

No matter you work as a lawyer, an accountant, a stock trader or a construction worker, working on a computer can be a great way to earn money, learn new skills, and stay connected with friends and family. However, it can also be very strenuous on both your body and your eyes.

In fact, many people report eyestrain and headaches after prolonged computer use. Fortunately, working on a computer doesn't have to be a strain on your health. These 5 tips will help you stay healthy while working on a computer and enjoy the experience to the fullest.

How to Stay Fit and Healthy During a Business Trip

Traveling for business can be challenging when it comes to staying fit and healthy. Between the limited time spent at home, fluctuating schedules, and unexpected overnight trips, it can be difficult to maintain a healthy balance while at home.

Wherever you are in the world, staying fit and healthy is always a good idea. Whether it’s traveling as a couple, or traveling on your own, staying healthy and fit is something that should be a priority regardless of your circumstances.

The most important thing is to make sure you’re getting the right balance between your work and personal life. Here are some tips on how to stay fit and healthy during a trip for business.

Plan Your Workouts Before You Leave

When you’re traveling for work, you won’t have the time to work out as much as you would normally. While you still need to keep up a healthy lifestyle while you’re on the road, you don’t have the opportunity to devote as much time to working out.

So, before you leave, not only you should get prepared with clothes, money or apps such as a VPN for China, you also need to schedule some time to workout while you’re at home. This will help you stay in shape, and it will also give you a break when you have limited time.

You don’t have to be hardcore with your workouts, but you should make sure that you take the time to move around, and make sure that you’re not taking breaks that are too long.

Stay Hydrated

One of the most important things when it comes to staying hydrated is to make sure that you’re getting the right balance. You want to make sure that you’re getting a lot of water, but you don’t want to get headaches from drinking too much.

The best way to stay hydrated is to always have a water bottle with you.

You can also get water bottles that attach to the outside of your backpack, so it’s easy to access while you’re walking around cities.

You should also try to stay away from drinks with added sugar, as these can contribute to bloating and excess water retention.

Find Meaningful Activities

When you’re home, you can easily spend your time doing things that are actively good for your health. This includes things like going to the gym, or taking walks outside.

During your business trip, however, you won’t have as much time available to you. This means that you’ll have to find other ways to stay active.

While you may not be able to go to the gym, you can still stay active. You can choose from a wide range of activities, from hiking to walking around different cities.

That way, you won’t have to spend a lot of time waiting around for other activities to take place, and you can still stay active and make sure that you stay healthy.

Walk Around City You’re Visiting

There are many great cities and countries for business trips, such as Japan, China and UK. Traveling to different cities can be exciting, but it can also be stressful. You may not have the time to relax and unwind in the same way that you would back home.

One thing you can do to ease your mind is to walk around the city you’re visiting while you’re there.

This will help you get your heart rate up, which will help you relax and unwind. It will also help you to get a lot of good exercise while you’re there.

Walking around the city is a great way to stay fit and healthy when you’re traveling on business.

Eat Healthy

As much as you want to when you’re home, it’s important to make sure that you’re eating healthily while you’re away.

It’s easy to get caught up in eating the same food, or eating out at restaurants every day.

But, when you travel, it’s important to make sure that you’re eating healthily. This will help you to make sure that you’re getting the right balance between eating what you want, and eating what you need to stay healthy.

Bottom Line

Traveling for work can be difficult when it comes to staying fit and healthy. Between the limited time spent at home, fluctuating work schedules, and unexpected overnight trips, it can be challenging to maintain a healthy balance while at home.

The most important thing is to make sure you’re getting the right balance between your work and personal life. These are a few tips on how to stay fit and healthy during a business trip.

Best Exercises for Small Apartments: 7 Effective Workouts For Tight Spaces

Have you ever walked into your home and felt instantly at peace? You know, the kind of peace that makes you want to pull out your friends and never leave? Yeah, that’s the feeling. The right atmosphere can calm your nerves, relax your muscles, and make you feel right at home.

In small apartments, getting the right workout can be really challenging. You may not have the space to do a full-on cardio and resistance circuit, or the money to spend on a home gym. That’s where these seven exercises come in! They’re so efficient that you can do them anywhere, anytime, even on a school night. Here’s how they work to help you fit your fitness routine into a tight space.

1. Runner's stretch

Runner’s stretch is a great all-around exercise. It works your overall cardio and flexibility, while also improving your upper body strength and power.

You can do it anytime, anywhere, as long as you have at least one wall available to put your hands on.

Start by placing both hands on one wall and stretching your body out as far as you can go. Your back should be stretched, your arms should be stretched out, and your legs should be straight. From here, bend one arm, bringing it up to your chest, and put that hand on the other arm. Bring your other arm down to your back, and stretch it out to the side. Repeat for the other side.

2. Chest press

Chest presses are one of the best exercises for supersize people. Not only do they build muscle, but they also increase your blood pressure—a factor in heart health!

You can do this exercise with any object that has two surfaces—either two boxes, a shelf, or even a countertop. Grab one hand on each surface and raise one arm up, like you’re shrugging. Then, lower your arm down and do the same with the other arm. Keep switching up so that one arm stays on one surface and the other arm stays on the other surface.

This will help you build your core muscles, while also increasing your upper body strength.

3. Shelf

Shelf presses are great for building shoulder strength, and they’re super easy to do anywhere.

To do them, grab a book from your bookshelf and press it against the wall, as if you’re reading it. While holding this position, do a shoulder raise and then lower the book. You can add in arm raises, or take a break and do some pull-ups on your bookshelf.

This will help you build shoulder strength, and improve your grip, too!

4. Side plank

The side plank is another great exercise for building shoulder strength. Not only that, but it also strengthens your core and gives you a 10x better posture.

To do this exercise, start in a plank position on one hand and one foot. This means your other arm and leg should be held up out at a 90-degree angle. Then, slowly roll your body to the side, keeping your arm and leg out at a 90-degree angle. Repeat for the other side, and then switch arms and legs.

The side plank is a great exercise to do when you’re short on floor space. It’s also a great all-around workout that works on all your muscles!

5. Exercise ball

Exercise balls are a great way to improve your balance and core strength. Plus, you can use them for all kinds of workouts, not just a push-up or triceps routine!

To do push-ups on an exercise ball, start in a plank position on the ball. From here, slowly lower your body down, keeping your hands on the ground. Then, push back up to plank position. Push-ups are a great exercise to build your arms and core muscles.

6. Sumo squat

The sumo squat is another great all-around exercise that works your legs, glutes, shoulders, and core.

Sumo squats are the opposite of conventional squats. Instead of sitting down with your legs out straight, you’re sitting back with your legs together in front of you, and then rising up to standing back up.

7. Bottom-up plank

The bottom-up plank is another great all-around plank variation that strengthens your core, arms, and back at the same time.

To do this exercise, start in a plank position on the floor. Then, slowly lift your arms up, keeping your elbows in tight to your sides, like you’re making an upside-down W. From there, slowly lower your arms back down to plank position.

The bottom-up plank is great because it works on multiple muscle groups at once. It’s also great for building balance!

Conclusion

Having the right workout routine is essential for a balanced and healthy lifestyle. But, how do you fit it all in? The good news is, you don’t need own a big house or a ton of money. These three exercises can be done anywhere, anytime. They’re also super efficient, meaning you only need a few pieces of equipment. And, the best part is, you can do them all in your apartment!

The good news is, you don’t need a huge space or a ton of money. These three exercises can be done anywhere, anytime. They’re also super efficient, meaning you only need a few pieces of equipment. And, the best part is, you can do them all in your apartment!

How to Win a Physical Therapy Malpractice Lawsuit

Every healthcare professional knows the importance of keeping your patient’s records safe and secure. However, as is the case with any other profession, there are bound to be instances where a patient’s records are compromised. When this happens, the consequences can be severe. This is why some medical malpractice lawyers have even gone as far as to say that physical therapy is the most dangerous specialty in medicine.

That being said, not all PTs are bad. In fact, they are just doing their job. They are trained to work with patients who have injuries and ailments. They are also trained to work on their patients’ bodies to improve their strength, flexibility, and mobility.

However, as with any other profession, there are bound to be some PTs who are not up to par. That’s why some physical therapists can also become victims of medical malpractice lawsuits. To learn more about how you can win a malpractice lawsuit against your doctor, keep reading.

What Is Physical Therapy Malpractice?

Physical therapy malpractice happens when a physical therapist negligently causes an injury to a patient. In other words, they are negligent in their treatment of your injury.

According to legal experts in this field, the most common negligence that physical therapists can be found guilty of is letting their patients’ injuries go untreated. And this can happen in a number of ways.

One way is by not performing the necessary tests to determine the cause of the injury. Another way is by not recommending a treatment plan that is appropriate for the patient’s ailment.

These are just some of the ways in which physical therapists can be held liable for medical malpractice. However, not all PTs have a track record of negligence. In fact, some of them are even excellent physical therapists.

When Can a Physical Therapist Be Held Liable for Medical Malpractice?

There are a few instances that can make a PT liable for medical malpractice. They include:

Negligently diagnosing a patient’s ailment: According to many malpractice lawyers, this is the most common way that physical therapists are held liable for medical malpractice. It can happen if your PT negligently diagnoses your ailment and fails to recommend a treatment plan that is appropriate for your condition.

Failing to properly evaluate your medical conditions: Another way that physical therapists can be held liable for medical malpractice is by negligently failing to properly evaluate your medical conditions and injuries. This can happen if your PT fails to test your muscles and tissues to determine their strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Failing to treat your condition appropriately: Physical therapists can also be held liable for medical malpractice if they fail to treat your condition appropriately. This can happen if your PT fails to refer you to a specialist if needed, or if they fail to recommend a treatment plan that is both appropriate and effective.

What Are The Different Types of PT Malpractice?

Aside from the fact that you can win a PT malpractice lawsuit, there are also several different types of PT malpractice. They include:

Negligent failure to diagnose: If your PT negligently fails to diagnose your condition, they can be held liable for medical malpractice. This can happen if they do not perform a thorough physical examination on you, or if they do not order the necessary tests that may help them accurately diagnose your condition.

Failure to recommend treatment: If your PT negligently fails to recommend a treatment plan that is both appropriate and effective, they can be held liable for medical malpractice. This can happen if your PT fails to order tests to determine the cause of your injury, and if they fail to order a treatment plan that focuses on your condition and can help you recover.

Failure to refer: If your PT fails to refer you to a specialist if needed, they can be held liable for medical malpractice. This can happen if your doctor fails to properly diagnose your ailment and fails to refer you to a specialist.

How to Prove That Your Doctor Committed Physical Therapy Malpractice

When a PT malpractice lawsuit is filed, it’s because the plaintiff wants to win money from the defendant. But to do so, they first need to prove that the defendant is at fault. One of the ways to achieve this is by proving that the defendant committed physical therapy malpractice.

To prove that your doctor committed physical therapy malpractice, you will need to provide the court with several pieces of evidence. These include:

Medical records: Medical records can be very helpful in proving that your doctor committed physical therapy malpractice. This is because the records can show that your doctor negligently failed to diagnose your condition and recommend a treatment plan that is both appropriate and effective.

Expert witness: If you choose to have a physical therapy malpractice lawsuit tried in a jury trial, you might want to consider having an expert witness testify for you. This is because expert witnesses are trained to provide the court with relevant and important evidence.

Signatures: If the defendant is a hospital or clinic, you can also ask them to give you their patients’ signatures.

Conclusion

Physical therapy is a great profession that helps many people improve their strength, flexibility, and mobility. Unfortunately, there are also some physical therapists who are not up to par. This is why you need to be very careful when choosing a physical therapist. Make sure that they are qualified and experienced. Also, make sure that they are certified by the state board. This is because only certified professionals can legally practice physical therapy. If you follow these steps, you can ensure that your physical therapy is both safe and effective.

The Different Types of Staff in the Hospital The Different Types of Staff in the Hospital

Whenever you enter a hospital there are so many staff members you get to see moving here and there, which clearly shows that a hospital is not about doctors alone. Doctor’s need help in different departments in different ways so that all consultations, operations, and treatment can be performed smoothly. This is the reason why they hire different staff in the hospital. But who are these staff members? What tasks do they perform? If such are the questions now running in your mind then continue reading to discover your answers.

Hospital Staff Categories:

Below is a list of some basic hospital staff categories:

Healthcare Assistants

The Different Types of Staff in the Hospital

A healthcare assistant or HCA works under the guidance of various healthcare professionals. You might have seen HCAs assisting midwives in mental health or maternity services, or working with nurses in hospitals. Some of their duties include monitoring, observing, and recording the conditions of patients by taking the weight, pulse, and temperature. They also communicate with the relatives of patients, and check ordering supplies.

Nurses

Nurses play a very important role in hospitals, and in fact, without them, it is not possible for hospitals to work. They are the ones who spend maximum time with the patients. They observe and monitor patients throughout the day, and this is why they are the first ones to know if there are any changes in the patients, and then they immediately inform the doctors about it. There are different types of nurses – licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and registered nurses. They may have different roles but all of them are responsible for mentoring and observing the patients. Those interested in nursing should take a look at the career of LPNs.

Physicians

Physicians are the ones you first imagine when you think of hospitals. They provide the highest levels of care needed by patients. This includes diagnosing the disease and treating patients and providing them with inpatient and outpatient care. Physicians also have the responsibility of providing updates and reports on the patients to their families and letting them know about the required treatment. Physicians must have the skills to communicate with their patients, families, and other healthcare providers. They also need to have the ability to collaborate with other medical experts to provide the best treatment for their patients.

Pharmacists

The Different Types of Staff in the Hospital

Patients in the hospital need different types of drugs, and it is the pharmacists who have the responsibility of managing and distributing such drugs. They need to maintain the proper level of each drug and also package the drug to be administered. The pharmacists also have to carefully review the new drugs being prescribed to patients, compare them with the medications that they are already taking, and identify any risks that may arise from these combinations. It is important to note that pharmacists are medical professionals and they have an ethical responsibility to patients and other health care providers to keep up to date with new research and changes in their field. If a pharmacist is unsure about the safety of a drug or the correct way to administer it, they should not hesitate to contact their supervisor or another health care provider for advice.

Technicians

There are so many types of technicians in a hospital, including radiology technicians, surgical technicians, patient care technicians, electroencephalogram technicians, pharmacy technicians and so on. They help other hospital professionals in their duties and are more in touch with the patients than the professionals themselves. These technicians work in different departments of a hospital and provide assistance as well as technical advice to the doctors and nurses. They gather information about the patient's medical history and current condition and collect data from diagnostic tests like blood tests and X-rays. They prepare the patient for these diagnostic tests and assist the doctors during surgery. Pharmacy technicians are responsible for preparing and distributing medications to patients according to the doctor's prescription.

Clerical Staff

The Different Types of Staff in the Hospital

Though they are not given much importance, nonetheless, they perform very important tasks. This category includes the receptionist who takes phone calls from patients, answers their queries, fixes appointments, calls patients if they do not turn up on time, manages the anxiety of family members, and so on. Apart from the receptionists, other people in this category are hospital operators, the staff assisting the hospital administrators, and the people working in medical records.

Conclusion

There are many other staff members in a hospital, all of them are equally important, and it is their combined efforts that make things easier for the patients, helping them recover fast, and that too without facing any troubles. The doctors, nurses, and other staff members work collectively to achieve a common goal of providing the best medical care possible to each and every patient. It is not important in which department you work, but the fact that you are working towards a noble cause. The facilities and amenities provided at a hospital are there for a reason, and that is to make things easier for patients.

What Are The Differences Between Alkaline Water and Reverse Osmosis

If you think that reverse osmosis and alkaline water are the same, you need to think again. Most people think that alkalinity is associated with ionizer machines. In this article, we are going to talk about the difference between reverse osmosis and alkaline water. Read on to find out more.

Reverse Osmosis (Ro)

In this device, there is a semi-permeable membrane that removes molecules, particles, and ions. With this filtration technology, hydraulic pressure is used to separate molecules from water. Therefore, you need electricity to power these units.

1. Alkaline Water Filtration requires no Electricity

As said earlier, reverse osmosis uses electricity for the treatment and the removal of particles. Unlike RO units, these systems cost more. The good thing is that they are a viable solution. Generally, it is easy to set up countertop filters. On the other hand, you need to have the technical know-how to install a reverse osmosis system.

2. RO Removes all types of Minerals

RO units can totally remove total dissolved solids. But the problem is that they also remove a lot of healthy minerals. For regular consumption, experts don't recommend demineralized water. If you continue to drink this type, you will have to suffer from health issues.

So, you need to remineralize filtered water by adding another system into the process. By contrast, an alkaline filter adds to the mineral content of your tap water. Apart from this, these systems can also add electrolytes for even better hydration capacity.

3. RO Wastes Tons of water

The RO process wastes a lot of water. It can waste up to 80% of it. In other words, you will end up wasting 8 liters of liquid in exchange for 2 liters of filtered water. Although you can also find some units that don't waste much, know that they cost a lot of money.

On the other hand, you can use a countertop filter to produce alkaline water. This process will add healthy minerals while generating no wastewater at all.

4. An Alkaline Filter is a Small Unit

RO units cover a lot of space as they are large units. On the other hand, an alkaline filter does not take as much space. Besides, they are less expensive to purchase and maintain.

5. RO produces Acidic Water

If you want to improve the pH level of your tap water, you can use an alkaline machine. The process of RO removes all of the minerals which is why drinking this type of water is not recommended.

If you want to remineralize reverse osmosis water and enhance the pH level, we suggest that you try an ionizer machine. Again this approach can cost you a lot of money.

In short, these five are the primary differences between alkaline water and reverse osmosis water.

An alkaline reverse osmosis water purifier can help you purify your tap water. You can buy these units at https://www.olansichina.com/commercial-400gpd-alkaline-water-machine-water-purifier-reverse-osmosis-filter-drinking-water-purifier-machine.html.

How to Find the Perfect Surgeon for Your Facelift Procedure¬† Facelifts are the gold standard procedure for people who want to reverse visible signs of aging and regain a youthful appearance. But while a facelift can provide excellent results, the surgeon you choose will have a huge effect on the outcome. If you’d like to achieve a natural-looking result without being ‘overdone’, it's important to opt for an experienced surgeon.

In this article, we’re going to give you a few tips on how to find the right surgeon so you can get the most out of your facelift. During a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon you should ensure that:

Royalty free photo

The Surgeon is Board-Certified

Organizations like the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) certifies plastic surgeons. The ABPS tests and peer evaluates physicians and provides an additional level of confirmation that the surgeon is qualified. While not every board-certified surgeon is perfect at their job, certification is essential. It means that the surgeon has experience and is dedicated to ethics, continued education, and training in their field.

The Surgeon is Well-Reviewed

Practice makes perfect, and this is especially true when it comes to plastic surgeons. A physician who only does a few facelifts a year may not be the best choice for a procedure that requires so much skill. Opt for a surgeon who performs the procedure often and has testimonials with a high patient satisfaction rate. A client who would happily return is a good sign.

The Surgeon Has Photos of His/Her Work

Before and after photos can be a great way to learn more about your surgeons' skill and abilities. A quality facial surgeon will have a good understanding of facial anatomy. When looking at before photos, seek out patients with similar concerns to yours and compare the end result. After photos should have natural-looking results with no visible scarring. By looking at before and after photos, you'll have a better idea of the surgeon’s qualifications.

The Surgeon Has Your Eye for Beauty

Although everyone has a different idea of beauty, it's important to find a surgeon who agrees with your desired goals. In short, you and your surgeon should share similar aesthetic sensibilities. Plastic surgery is both an art and a science. Not all facelifts are created equal. Look for a surgeon who specializes in performing the procedure for men, women, and all ethnic backgrounds to ensure you’ll have an optimal outcome.

The Surgeon has Integrity and Compassion

Although this area isn't always brought up in cosmetic surgery, even with facelifts, many things can go wrong if the surgeon is not cautious. When making treatment recommendations, the surgeon should always prioritize the needs of their patients rather than just profits.

A surgeon who takes the time to understand each person's goals will likely be a better fit. The surgeon should also discuss both the risks and benefits of all available treatment options. Lastly, make sure you feel comfortable being open and honest with your surgeon before choosing him or her.

Final Thoughts

Although many people seek out facelifts each year, your results will ultimately depend on the surgeon you choose. Following the simple advice, we’ve just outlined should help you find the perfect surgeon for your procedure in no time.

How Coffee Stains Teeth and What To Do About It Did you know that your morning cup of coffee could be the reason why your teeth are stained? Many people don’t realize just how badly coffee can end up staining their teeth, and constantly underestimate its role in yellowing teeth over time.

Understanding Coffee Stains

Contrary to what you may expect, coffee doesn’t just stain your teeth because of its color and in fact it actually stains your teeth in several different ways. That is part of the reason why it is one of the main culprits behind stained teeth.

To begin with, coffee contains a substance known as ‘tannins’ that is also present in red wine. It causes color to stick to your teeth, staining it in the process with a yellow-ish color that won’t just wash away.

On top of that coffee is also acidic and that can wear away the enamel that protects the teeth. While this can be damaging to your teeth in the long term and lead to cavities, it can also cause pitting that will increase the likelihood of stains.

How to Remove Coffee Stains

The good news however is nowadays there are several ways to remove coffee stains, and these measures are typically known as teeth whiteners. As you can guess based on their name, these products will help you to whiten your teeth by removing any staining and leaving them a gleaming, pearly, white.

Generally speaking, teeth whitening can be done using over-the-counter products or on a professional basis. The difference between both these options is important, as they vary in effectiveness and cost.

Over-the-counter teeth whitening products mostly consist of either whitening toothpaste or bleaching whitener kits that you can apply at home. Depending on the severity of the staining on your teeth the effectiveness of these methods can vary, though in most cases it will take multiple applications before you start to see a noticeable difference. That being said they tend to be very affordable, and are convenient to boot.

On the other hand professional teeth whitening is often carried out at a dentist, and it uses stronger and more effective substances to bleach your teeth. Because of that you will be able to see noticeable results a lot sooner, but that does come at a far more expensive price tag. Additionally it is certainly less convenient, as you’ll need to make a trip to the dentists each time you want a treatment.

Keep in mind that although teeth whitening Exeter can help you to remove coffee stains – your teeth are likely to eventually become stained again, if you continue to drink coffee. In fact it may even start to become stained very quickly if you drink any coffee shortly after having your teeth whitened.

Assuming you don’t want to give up coffee completely however, you can arrange to have your teeth whitened periodically. That way you’ll have relatively white teeth, but at the same time will have to go in for whitening every so often.

4 Important Things to Consider When Getting Braces At first the idea of getting braces may seem daunting, and maybe even a bit scary – but in actual fact modern-day braces are a far cry from what they used to be. That being said, there are a few important things that you will want to consider when you’re getting braces, so that you are absolutely certain of your decision:

  • The objective isn’t necessarily just to straighten your teeth

When you get braces, straightening your teeth is only part of the objective. Instead, it is actually a more comprehensive way to correct issues related to your smile and bite – which is why your dentist will look at how crowded your teeth are, any gaps that exist, and the nature of your bite and jaw. Based on that they will then figure out how best to correct your smile, which may be more involved than you anticipate.

  • Invisible braces aren’t always an option

If you have your heart set on getting ‘invisible’ braces – you may want to quickly rethink how set you are on them. While it is nice to have braces that are inconspicuous, the fact of the matter is that they aren’t suitable for all cases and so you may find that they aren’t an option. At the end of the day you should remember that the aim is to fix your smile, and you should focus on that rather than the type of braces.

  • It can take a long time to straighten your teeth

The exact amount of time it will take to straighten your teeth and correct your smile will vary based on how crooked or misaligned they were to begin with, as well as a host of other issues. As such you should be prepared for the fact that you may very well have to wear braces for two years – or more.

  • Getting braces is a commitment

Assuming you do decide to get braces, you need to be fully aware that it is a commitment that you need to take seriously. Not only will you need to follow your dentist’s instructions to the letter, but you’ll also need to take your oral hygiene very seriously, and stick to any dental appointments. It is important that you are aware and prepared for the commitment you’re taking on, as if you aren’t you could end up having to wear braces for much longer and may face other complications.

If you have any concerns, be sure to raise them with your orthodontist Sutton when you get a consultation. Not only will an orthodontist be able to reassure you about the prospect of getting braces, but they’ll also be able to let you know exactly what your options are.

At the end of the day you should keep in mind that straightening your teeth is going to be extremely beneficial in the long run – both from an aesthetic as well as dental health point of view. As such you should carefully consider it, as it is a very important decision and one that you shouldn’t rush into.

Understanding the Consequences of Not Straightening Teeth If your teeth are crooked or misaligned you may have considered getting them fixed with braces. However although it may seem like the obvious choice, you may be unsure of whether it is worth it due to the economic cost, or maybe the stigma of adult braces.

To compound that issue, most people assume that straightening teeth is purely an aesthetic improvement. It is important that you understand that isn’t the case, and crooked or misaligned teeth could have some very real consequences if you don’t straighten them:

  • Difficult to clean

One of the main problems with crooked or misaligned teeth is that they are much more difficult to clean, and there are often a lot of nooks and crannies for bits of food and plaque to hide in. As such it is much more likely that you’ll end up with gum disease, cavities and other dental issues because of the fact that you’re unable to effectively clean your teeth.

  • Wears down your teeth

Over time your teeth are likely to wear down each other and slowly but surely wear down certain parts of your teeth that are essentially exerting pressure on each other. Not only will this put the protective layer around your teeth (i.e. the enamel) at risk, but it could lead to further complications down the line – including an increased risk of cavities.

  • Causes the alignment of your teeth to get worse

If left uncorrected, misaligned teeth are likely to get worse as time goes by. As you grow older your teeth are likely to shift even further out of place, exacerbating any existing misalignment and making it far more pronounced. In some cases it could even lead to the development of an overbite or underbite, and may cause issues with your jawbone as well.

  • Deteriorating self-confidence

In part due to your misaligned teeth as well as the other consequences discussed above, your self-confidence is likely to deteriorate over time. Many people end up being extremely self-conscious about their smile when they have misaligned or crooked teeth, and as it gets worse their self-confidence ends up taking a hit. That can lead to other issues, and affect your lifestyle as a whole.

As you can see straightening your teeth is far more than ‘just a cosmetic’ improvement. While it is true that it will improve the aesthetics of your smile, there are some serious dental considerations that you need to take into account as well.

If you’re still unsure as to whether or not you should get braces, you should consult an orthodontist in Greenwich. When you do be sure to ask them about the impact of not straightening your teeth, as well as any potential consequences that you may face if you decide not to. All said and done in most cases it is more than worthwhile to wear braces, as while they may be a challenge in the long term the benefits far outweigh any difficulties you may face.

4 Essential Tips to Make Wearing Braces Less Challenging Wearing braces to fix crooked or misaligned teeth is a good step to take to improve your smile and oral health. However it does take time, and during that period you may find that wearing braces can be quite challenging – to say the least.

Seeing as you’re going to have to cope with wearing braces, it would be a good idea to take heed of these tips that could make it a bit less of a challenge:

  • Keep the braces as clean as you can

While you’re wearing braces it is critical that you keep them, and your mouth, as clean as possible. To do that you should commit to a stringent oral hygiene regiment, and brush at least twice a day while also flossing at least once. It may be a good idea to get into the habit of brushing shortly after every meal, so that you can clear out any food chunks that may get stuck in your braces – and you may also want to consider using mouthwash to rinse.

  • Skip foods that could damage your braces

The last thing that you want is for your braces to be damaged, as you’ll have to visit the dentist and have them fixed – and it could take longer for your teeth to get fixed. As a rule you should avoid any hard, sticky, or excessively sugary foods as they all are risky when you’re wearing braces. If you do suspect that your braces are damaged, you should visit a dentist sooner rather than later.

  • Stay hydrated and keep your lips moisturized

Making sure that you consume enough water is always a good thing, and it is doubly important when you’re wearing braces. If you aren’t hydrated your lips are likely to get hard and may crack or break due to the sharp points on some braces. Additionally you may want to keep a chap stick on you so that you can moisturize your lips throughout the day.

  • Always stick to your dental appointments

It is never a good idea to skip dental appointments, especially when you’re wearing braces. Each appointment will give the dentist the opportunity to inspect your braces, monitor its progress, and check for any damage. In the long run sticking to your appointments could even help you to get your braces off sooner, as adjustments could be performed more regularly than if you skipped some appointments.

If you have any questions about wearing braces you should make it a point to ask your orthodontist Greenwich. It is always best to clear up any confusion, so that you don’t end up making mistakes that could affect the effectiveness of your braces.

At the end of the day wearing braces to fix your smile is certainly worth it as you’ll end up with a better, brighter, and straighter smile. While it can be challenging, if you stick with it you’ll definitely be able to look back one day – and smile.

Private Ultrasound Providers For Non Insured Brooklyn Residents What is an Ultrasound

An ultrasound is a diagnostic test that uses sound waves to create a visual image of the prenatal environment. It allows health care professionals to obtain valuable information about the fetus, placenta and mothers organs. The test uses sound waves that bounce off fetus allowing the computer to produce an image of the results. The basic machine produces a 2D image, but as technology has advanced so has the accuracy of the results. Today there are 3D images and videos that can be produced. The first test can be done around two months to confirm the pregnancy, and check initial development. The second test is usually done around 4 or 5 months to determine the gender of the baby and check that growth is healthy and normal.

The internal organs of the baby are essential to check. The doctor must check the heart rate, lung and brain development along with other measurements. It is a non-obtrusive test that involves using the wand of the machine against the abdomen of the expecting mother. A special gel allows proper contact with the skin so the images or videos are clear and accurate. From start to finish it should only be about 20 minutes. Studies from the last four decades show the ultrasound procedure is safe for both the mother and baby.

Where do to an ultrasound

There are a few options for where to do an ultrasound. The first thing to know is an ultra sound machine is an advanced and expensive piece of medical equipment. Traditionally the ultra sound was down by the doctor in the hospitals. Like many field in the medical industry various tasks are being delegated to trained specialist in a specific area. An ultra sound technician is a trained specialist who is qualified to perform the ultrasound safely and efficiently. The ultra sound business, because of their necessity and accurate results, is rapidly growing and found in many places outside of the hospitals now. Clinics specifically for ultra sounds are open now, for performing the necessary test. These clinics have an advantage of usually having newer and better quality machines than the hospitals. Studies show that the detection rate of complications in the pregnancy are higher outside of the hospitals now.

If you are insured, then nearly all insurance plans cover the procedure in full or partially. Confirmation is needed for the details of what the cover and how often but the basics will be covered.

If you are uninsured, the good news is these clinics are actually less expensive than the doctors in hospitals. A standard test could be around a couple hundred dollars, and compared to hospitals where they are about double that, it is a great deal. Additionally, many clinics accept different forms of payment and even provide payment plans sometimes.

To conclude, having an ultrasound during pregnancy is safe, necessary and because of the options of clinics and private providers it is now easier and more cost effective than ever.

Funs Ways to Live a Healthy Lifestyle There are a few ways to lead a healthy lifestyle. For example, we could make some time to clean up the home. Find a weekend to throw things that could not be used. If there are things that are usable but have no need for it, donate it or drop it into the boxes for recycling. Wipe the dusts from furniture and all over the home. Dust could cause health problems, so get rid of it! It's certainly not welcomed by people with asthma or other respiratory illnesses. If there is not enough time or energy to clean up the whole home at once, divide it into a few tasks and spread it over the week. One thing at a time is better than none when it comes to cleaning up.

If you are interested in living a truly healthy lifestyle, then you may need to make some drastic changes. The foods you eat are very crucial to your health. You want to eat a balanced diet that covers all of the food groups. This will help you look and feel your very best. Make sure you limit your consumption of sugary foods and that you pay attention to the size of your portions.

Most people don't realize the amount of damage that what they drink can do to their health as well. All of that soda you drink each day can be difficult for your body to digest. Reducing the amount of sugar and caffeine that you consume will help you to feel good all day long. You won't have to worry about periods of the day when you are sluggish.

Getting enough sleep is vital to your overall health. Those individuals that don't get enough have slower reaction times and they tend to be irritable. It can make it harder to complete daily tasks and to stay focused on what you are doing. Try to go to bed at the same time each night and get up each morning at the same time.

You need to engage in some exercise or playing some sports each day regardless of how old you are. This can be walking, running, cycling, or a combination of sports. The key to staying motivated to exercise is to choose activities that you enjoy. This way you will look forward to them instead of feeling forced to take part in them. You'll find that being active is one of the best choices you can make, so discover what you love doing!

Even if you don't feel bad, you need to see your doctor at least once a year for a full check up. This way you will be able to rule out any various types of illnesses that may be affecting your body. Pay close attention to any symptoms you have in between check ups. Early intervention is one of the best ways you can find various types of illnesses.

Make sure you carefully monitor your level of stress. While some stress is normal, too much of it can take a toll on you. It can affect your appetite, your attention span, and your sleep patterns. If you are having trouble dealing with stress in your life, you may want to seek professional assistance.

Take some time for yourself too, and you will be healthier. We often take on too many responsibilities, and that doesn't leave time left for relaxing activities. Try to spend some hours each week doing something for yourself. It can be taking a bubble bath, reading, or visiting with a friend. This will help rejuvenate your mental health without too much effort.
When we are sick, it is advisable to seek physician or doctor for medical help. Although some may choose to get medicines straight from the pharmacy, there is a need to research and learn about the prescription and usage. If it serious and not getting better with the medicine, it is an urgency to seek the attention of professionals like doctors. Another thing to remember is that if you are sick, get a medical leave off from work. There are many who think that they could bear with the sickness and use the time up for accomplishing work. However we have to bear in our minds that if you are sick and carrying infectious virus, it could be transmitted to others in the office or at work. For those who have weaker immune system may be more prone to be infected. The best we could do for ourselves and others is to rest at home when we are sick.

Finally, there is no argument on the importance to drink lots of water. Water helps to keep us hydrated. Lacking of it may cause us to be tired and even lose energy. Drink lots of water whether it is sunny or rainy. The body needs it in spite of the weather.

A Meaningful Life: Retirement Insights for Active Seniors The good news for most of us is that we are all living longer, which means that when you retire you are not quite ready to put your feet up on a regular basis, as you have plenty of life left in you and energy to expend.

Unfortunately, immortality is not an option, so you will need to engage with some funeral planners and get things sorted on that front, but in terms of enjoying an active retirement, there are plenty of options and time on your side, to ensure that you achieve a meaningful and purposeful time in your senior years.

Continue and add more hobbies

If you have a favorite pastime that you enjoy doing, there is no reason why you can’t continue with that hobby into retirement, even if your physical abilities mean that you might have to make some adjustments.

There is no question that if you can remain physically active and enjoy walking, playing golf, swimming or whatever else it is that you already gained a lot of pleasure from, it makes perfect sense to carry on into retirement.

In addition, now that you have some more time on your hands, look at adding some new hobbies. If you always fancied having a go at learning some ballroom dancing moves or seeing whether you can craft a vase by learning some pottery skills, why not consider adding some new hobbies, as you will learn some new talents and probably make some new friends along the way.

Looking after your gray matter

One of the key factors in ensuring that you enjoy a stimulating and rewarding retirement, is to feed your brain and keep active intellectually.

There are a number of ways to do this. Immersing yourself in plenty of culture will certainly make a positive contribution, so plan some trips to a few museums and art galleries, and look to see if there is a local historical society or similar organizations, where you can keep on learning and challenging yourself throughout your retirement.

Playing games like bridge, chess and poker can tick the right boxes in this respect too, plus you will get to do plenty of socializing at the same time as challenging your brain, so it is good news all round.

Plan a road trip

A proper road trip means planning a route across a number of different states and spending a few weeks or months visiting loads of places that might even be on your bucket list.

Many of us dream of taking the ultimate road trip, but struggle to get around to doing it as a result of work and family commitments, but now you are retired, what are you waiting for?

You will have your own ideas of where you want to go on your road trip. Whether it is winding your way through Utah or taking in the unique atmosphere and views of the Pacific coast in California, you now have the perfect opportunity to create plenty of talking points and new memories, by embarking on that road trip that you have always wanted to do.

How can clean air affect yoga practice?

Practicing yoga enables you to purify your body, connect with your inner self and achieve complete awareness of your surroundings. An important part of yoga is pranayama or deep breathing, so it goes without saying that clean air plays a vital role in exercising yoga. The act of breathing is important in yoga because it provides our bodies with oxygen, which is a prerequisite for a healthy life.

The Effects of Polluted Air

Air pollution is a serious issue, since it affects both our environment and our health. You’ve probably been in a situation where you couldn’t really take a deep breath in a stuffy room, so you started to feel constrained and uneasy. Polluted air can cause a variety of health issues, ranging from less serious problems, such as coughing, eye irritation, or tightness in the chest, to more serious ones, including decreased lung function and irregular heartbeats. Polluted air can also cause increased fatigue and it can weaken athletic performance, both of which can affect your yoga practice. When you consider the importance of breathing for practicing yoga, you cannot neglect the importance of fresh air, as well. Yoga is supposed to facilitate breathing, strengthen the lungs, muscles and contribute to our flexibility. However, unhealthy air makes this task more difficult. You start breathing with difficulty, which consequently affects your body and you become slower. Additionally, all of this can have a negative influence on your mood. When the air that is not fresh hinders your physical activity, you can become more anxious and tense, because you cannot get rid of stress through that activity. An unknown author said – a healthy mind has an easy breath.

What Can Clean Air Do for You?

As mentioned, air has a vital role in purifying our bodies from toxins. Air is considered prana, or the life force. When we inhale clean air, it circulates through our bodies and automatically cleanses them. Therefore, one of the main focuses of your daily yoga routine should be proper breathing and the performance of the pranayama exercises. Such exercises can result in an increase in your lightness and inner power, and can help you identify certain element imbalances in your body. Pranayama practice, as well as meditation, can help you distribute energy into the five basic elements that are present in our bodies – earth, air, fire, water and space. Additionally, the circulation of prana through the body awakens certain body parts, and leads to increasing consciousness and energy, and balancing the elements. Moreover, fresh air has an important impact on the proper functioning of cells, and therefore, the entire body. It can also improve your immune system, because white blood cells need a high level of oxygen to combat viruses, bacteria or germs. Finally, healthy and clean air increases happiness, as oxygen affects the secretion of serotonin. A L. Frank Baum once said, “Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again”.

Where Can You Find Fresh Air?

Nowadays, it becomes more and more difficult to find an area where air is not polluted, especially if you live in an urban city. However, this doesn’t mean that such locations don’t exist. If you live in the city centre, a possible solutions is to practice yoga on the city outskirts, as far from the centre of pollution as possible. If you live in a highly industrialised area, you can practice yoga in a park or some other open space where there’s a greater chance of breathing in the clean air. If you usually practice yoga at home, you should know that indoor air isn’t pollution-free either. Indoor air pollution is another important issue that shouldn’t be neglected and it’s caused by cooking, heating and lighting. Mould, dust, and cleaning products can also contribute to indoor air pollution and breathing difficulties. Therefore, you need to make sure that air inside your house is clean, and you can achieve this by opting for the best air purifier for mold. This way, you can wake up and start your day with a healthy yoga practice and a smile.

We rarely pay attention to breathing until we start breathing heavily. Therefore, every time you practice yoga, take a moment to be grateful for every breath you take.

Equipping Your Winter Home Gym for Under $100 It's difficult to stay fit in winter if you're dependent on an outside gym. You have to brave the cold to get out, not to mention potentially combating snow to get to your gym. Once you're there, there are a lot fewer people, which can also decrease your motivation to show up. A lot of people simply stop going to the gym in winter.

On the other hand, another option is to build your own home gym. You can do so for under $100 and still have a gym that can work out every part of your body. Here's what you need.

Dumbbells

A basic set of dumbbells or a pair of adjustable dumbbells can take you very far. You can use dumbbells to work out every muscle in your arm and back area, as well as use them to do weighted squats to work out your lower body.

If you're interested in building muscle endurance as well as strength, make sure you get weights that can go as low as 2 pounds. Plyometric exercises using high rep, extremely low weight dumbbells are perfect for building endurance.

A Pull-Up Bar

A pull-up bar is a very versatile piece of workout equipment. It works out almost every area of your body, from your arms to your shoulders to your back and your abs. You can adjust the level of your workout by resting a foot on a chair in front of you to do your pull-ups.

Resistance Bands

Resistance bands can be used to create a variety of workouts. You can stand on the bands and pull up to work out your biceps. You can hold them behind you and pull them forward to work out your back and your triceps. You can even simulate pull-ups using resistance bands.

Unlike other kinds of workout equipment, resistance bands are also quite adept at working out your abs and your lower body. Resistance bands can be used to add resistance to squats or leg lifts, as well as help you work out your abs.

Jump Rope

A jump rope is a fantastic piece of equipment for getting an aerobic workout at home. You can use the jump rope to warm up your body before doing a more intense exercise, or you really push yourself to do a long stretch of jump rope workouts.

If you really want to push yourself, try to do 5 sets of 3 minutes of intense rope jumping. That'll really get the blood pumping.

Exercise Ball

An exercise ball allows you to work out your abdominal muscles in all kinds of different ways. It allows you to vary the intensity of your squats, as well as do a number of different arm exercises.

That's all your home gym really needs. A simple dumbbell set, a pull-up bar, resistance bands, a jump rope and an exercise ball. All available on Amazon or eBay for under $100.

Aerobic Indoor Exercises for Cold Weather Aerobic exercise is great for your heart, great for burning calories and great for your health overall. According to the American Heart Association, a healthy adult should get at least 150 minutes of aerobic exercise every week. In other words, they recommend 30 minutes of exercise, five days a week.

According to the AHA, dividing your daily exercise into two still gives you the health benefits of aerobic exercise. In other words, you can just do two 15-minute bursts instead of one extended 30-minute session.

Getting aerobic exercise outdoor in cold weather can be tough. Not only is the weather uncomfortable, but getting ready to go out can take a long time. People often just don't exercise, instead of going through the trouble of putting on layers and layers of clothing to venture out into the cold.

Instead of exercising outdoors, one of the best ways to continue to burn the fat during winters is to just work out inside instead. Here are a few different aerobic exercises you can do, all in your own home.

Jumping Rope

A simple jump rope can be purchased for between $5 and $10 and can give you a hardcore workout. Jumping rope burns about twice as many calories as running. A 15-minute jump rope session will burn as many calories as half an hour of running.

The best way to jump rope is in 3-minute increments. Jump for 3 minutes, then take a 30-second break, then jump for another 3 minutes. Rinse and repeat for as long as you want to jump.

If you don't have a rope, you can also jump with a "phantom rope." Just make the hand motions and the jumping motions as if you had a rope.

Dance

Another great way to burn calories while having fun is to dance. You can either do it on your own, or dance to a dance video.

Dancing allows you to not only move your body, but also release serotonin as you get into the music. It's much more fun for a lot of people than running or other forms of aerobic activity.

If you have trouble letting go, try ordering a dance DVD that'll guide you through the workout.

Kickboxing or Shadow Boxing

Throw punches or kicks while standing in place or moving in a small circle. Spar as if you were fighting an imaginary opponent. Again, there are many DVDs and YouTube videos you can use to guide you through kickboxing exercises.

Jumping Jacks

Stand up in a straight line. Then with an explosive motion, spread your arms out horizontally and jump your legs out wide. Then jump back to your starting position. Repeat and use a timer to gauge your progress.

Try varying up the at-home aerobic exercises you do so you don't get bored. Also, try exercise outside at least once a week to get some fresh air and sunlight.

Health and Workout Apps for Travelers Most people travel during the holiday season to re-connect with their friends and family while others do it for vocational purposes and some just for business trips. While it can be good for your psyche, studies show that those who travel frequently tend to be the least healthy. First and foremost the journey itself can be stressful due to unavoidable factors such as traffic and flight delays. And once at the destination, you are welcomed with large festive meals most of which are harmful to your health but you consume them anyway in large quantities and start lazing around since it’s a holiday season. It is important to make exercise a priority even when away from the comfort of your own environment and gym.

Below are ways you can stay healthy and fit while traveling;

Eat Healthy

This is a very important rule when it comes to your health. Going off diet can affect your health and also ruin all the hard work that you have done to stay fit. Try and stick to fresh meals as much as possible or alternatively you can pack healthy snacks and low-fat meals that help you stay energized through your drive and also ensure that you avoid those mouthwatering but unhealthy foods.

Don't Give in to Peer Pressure

It can always be a challenge to stay committed to your workout schedule when around people who don't do the same while on a trip. Be true to yourself and be self-committed. If you know you have an early morning don't stay up late with friends for drinks no matter how tempting or convincing they might be.

Take Advantage by using Hotel Gyms

Although they aren't always the best, you just have to work with what you have. Make a routine of how you will be doing your exercise. This helps by making time go a lot faster especially if you have specific workouts for yourself such as intervals and circuit training.

Follow an 80/20 Rule at Dinner
